i'm just a selfish young fool

Anyone who have been spending time in the tower would see Minato around a lot. Actually, he's practically living in the tower for the past month doing research.

Research for what?

For those who know him or of his fate, they might have an idea. Or if they approach, it's not that hard to get an answer from him. After all, maybe they have an answer to his question...

After all, if he try to research in his home world, he probably ran out of time in finding his answer.

[On the screen, there's a question being posted onto the network.]

This is Minato Arisato, leader of SEES.

[It feels almost pointless to mention it by this point. But it's a simple holdover from when the other Minato walked around.]

I'm requesting help in finding a way to stop an immortal being from descending into my world and, without going into too much details (I can elaborate if you want), basically cause everyone to die.

I learned that the only way of stopping this is for someone to sacrifice themselves and become the Great Seal to keep her away from humanity. However, I wish to find another way without sacrificing anyone.

[He would do it, when there is no other choice. But he's selfish, very, very selfish, and wanted to live the rest of his life as well.]

I would appreciate any information or hints that might lead to another path.

[Ken looks at the post in confusion for a few moments, before responding.]

... I don't know of a way to stop her without that. But I'm trying to find a way to get them back. I don't care how long it takes.

[He doesn't even have to say who he means when he says 'them'. Minato should know.]

If... if I find a way, I'll let you know. Maybe try bringing in some people from other worlds who know more about it? Maybe someone from Waver and Lancer's world might have an idea.

Yeah. Oh and uh. ... Take enough persona to cover every element. You're going to need it.

Probably not a bad idea, though between everyone in SEES you can probably cover it.

The Avatar attacks twice as fast as anyone else can. It's got fourteen different stages of the fight, and it has an attack it uses near the end that nullifies all attacks against it, even almighty damage. Each stage is strong and weak to different elements. It's going to take a long time, so bring a bunch of recovery items and make sure everyone has trained to be as strong as they can before the fight.

... There's a fight after that, but... none of the rest of us could fight. I don't know exactly what happened.

Probably. I... wouldn't really know.

Yeah. Let me know if you want to spar? I still try to keep Dike in shape, though we don't have much to fight these days.

Yeah, that happens. Just let me know when you're up for it.

...you're sure that the timeline didn't change after leaving the Tower?
slightlyoblivious: (what's there?)

[personal profile] slightlyoblivious 2014-12-14 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it wouldn't be so simple.

[Not impossible, no, but everything like that has a price.]

You did what you had to do - it's not safe to leave a powerful Shadow like that.

Wait. How many more of those Shadows are out there? If you sealed one of them off, rather than killing it, that might do the trick. Like you said, she can't come down without an avatar, and if one of the Shadows is alive...

I hope it's okay if I just. jump in here

[Ryoji had noticed the network post almost immediately. With most people only returning to the Tower occasionally, the network didn't have much going on. Even if it was filled with posts, one that mentioned Nyx would instantly catch his attention.

He reads the answers, unsure how to proceed. He knows there shouldn't be any other option, but if anyone could come up with something, it would be Minato. He remembers how he was in December... accepting the fate of the world and simply helplessly believing there was no stopping it. Yet, the Minato in his world had proved him wrong. He had sacrificed himself to prevent the destruction of so many people... and if that was possible, Ryoji had to hope there were other methods.

He types out his own response.]

Sealing away something that powerful requires a huge amount of energy, which is why the sacrifice was needed.
But it is possible that sealing the avatar away from that power before it reaches him may prevent the Fall.
I can't say for sure if it will work, but... I know that your Ryoji will feel the same way. He'd want you to try anything to prevent your suffering.

Besides, sealing isn't the same as death. He'll still have a companion in you again, just like in the past.

[personal profile] notsogrimreaper 2014-12-22 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)

if you would prefer, I can meet with you here, so we can talk about how much energy is needed and do some research.

[Ryoji wants to help in any way he can. He knows he was accepting of the circumstances before, but now he knows sitting back and waiting won’t help matters. He’s a little hesitant to say more himself, but he manages to get a few words out.]

I want to thank you. For everything.

notsogrimreaper: (Ryoji Mochizuki: don't deserve you)

[personal profile] notsogrimreaper 2014-12-30 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[The mention of Minato wanting to say something makes Ryoji a bit nervous, but he tries to shake that off. Regardless of what happens, he trusts Minato, and respects his opinions.]

I’m in the library if you want to meet me here.
notsogrimreaper: (Ryoji Mochizuki: an honest smile)

[personal profile] notsogrimreaper 2014-12-31 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)

[Ryoji is sitting at a table, absently flicking through a large book. He obviously isn’t very interested in it. He just started looking at it so he’d have something to do while waiting for Minato to arrive. When Minato enters, he immediately looks up, and smiles gently. There’s a touch of sadness and nerves in it, but it still has the same warmth and respect he always had for his friend.]

It’s good to see you again. How are you feeling?

[He knows this time must be difficult for Minato to deal with.]
notsogrimreaper: (Ryoji Mochizuki: leading the way)

[personal profile] notsogrimreaper 2015-01-13 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)

[Ryoji nods solemnly in response to Minato.]

I think anyone would feel like that, considering what you’re going through… What date is it for you now? I can help you figure this out.

[He doesn’t want to admit to too much, since that seems like cheating, but he will share what he can in order to make Minato worry a bit less about what’s to come. He knows that if anyone can find a better way, Minato can.]

slightlyoblivious: (not your lost princess)

[personal profile] slightlyoblivious 2014-12-16 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

[A few minutes pass while she thinks. It's too soon for the TV world in Inaba to have opened. Even if it was possible for it to open, would it do that without Yu and her friends? He's still in the city in this time frame.]

If the portal to the TV world that we found was open, I - wouldn't say 'seal'. I'd say use it as a hiding place to give you more time to think. I don't know what the consequences would be if it were to open too early, though.
