Two grumpy gits go out for tea together (open to Waver)
[It was over and the defendant was declared Not Guilty.
And just so. No matter which worlds he traveled, Edgeworth's goal was to discover the truth. Admittedly he was a little uneasy about the use of alchemy as forensics but said methods provided accurate information and it turned out to be decisive evidence which made the real culprit break down.
Edgeworth walked out of the courthouse, satisfied. Now it was time to sort out some case files back at the little apartment he had bought in......well, this alternate London.
He heard a couple of girls giggling nearby and turned to face them. One of them blushed.]
Is something wrong, Miss?

[He had just been about to say something regarding the trial itself before Edgeworth's own words cut him off; looking over drew a quiet curse under his breath followed by 'excuse me' as he quickly stepped over to the giggling girls in question.]
[It seemed he was speaking to them regarding some assignment; or rather, they were using it as an excuse to talk to him at all. One of them shyly stammered out a respectful 'Lord El-Melloi' in addressing him, to which Waver sharply added 'the second' in an annoyed voice.]
[Whatever the particulars of the conversation, he seemed to be doing a very good job of scaring them off.]
Sorry about that. [Once they'd rushed off (with no small amount of shy giggling), Waver walked back over to Edgeworth with an aggravated frown.] I don't know how the hell they keep finding me; I'm starting to think London must be smaller than I always thought.

However, what was so bad was those weird girls. Edgeworth was not sure what they were giggling about - they weren't making fun of him, were they?]....A few of your students, I'm guessing?
no subject
[Then again, that were hardly the worst of them.]
I don't think I even told anyone where I was going to be. Damned Eskardos probably overheard me telling Diarmuid, and he can't keep his mouth shut to save his life.
[Sighing, Waver shook his head and lit a cigarette, making a conscious effort not to blow smoke in Edgeworth's direction. (That alone spoke volumes about Waver's opinion of him.)]
They're obsessive, I tell you.
I couldn't resist writing this.
[Edgeworth, you still need to work on your street smarts.]
honey NO
[Waver paused and stared at Edgeworth like he'd just grown another head. Slowly, he brought a hand up to take the cigarette out of his mouth; if the prosecutor said anything else that clueless, Waver thought it might fall when his jaw inevitably dropped.]
That...wasn't exactly what I meant, no.

I just didn't realize someone as smart as you could miss the point so completely.

[SIIIIIGH.]
I have what one would probably term a 'fanclub'. Those girls weren't quite as concerned with their assignment as they were looking for an excuse to talk to me.
1/2
.....OH.]
2/2
Heheheheheh. I-I already knew that. You just weren't keeping up, Waver.

[DENIED.]
Hell, I can't believe you don't have this problem too.
no subject
....Erm. I'd rather not discuss that. [Because who would want to discuss Oldbag of all people?]
no subject
[Waver laughed, only halfheartedly trying to hide it.]
Forget it, it's obviously a pain to discuss on both sides.

Hnnngh...I will have to go and store these files. The case is over so I am no longer in need of them.
no subject
Mind if I come with you? It's not often I get to experience the mundane side of things.
Now time to be pedantic and look up where most lawyers in the UK store files from completed cases.
welp
Lemme know if this tag changes because of my limited knowledge of the Nasuverse.
Hm....it's not every day you get to hear about the Houses of Parliament housing a bunch of wizards.
i try not to think too hard about the details t b h
Ffffffff welp this dude is from Japanifornia and I try not to think too hard about that.
The office is this way.
[When they reach there Edgeworth will ask Waver to wait in the office or something so he can go inside and store evidence. There is some high quality tea in his office if you wish for it! He will have let you help yourself to some.]
~details~, man
[...It was kind of surreal, actually, to remember that there was a large and functioning ordinary world outside the Clock Tower. As unconventional a mage as Waver was, it was much too easy to distance oneself from reality when one was part of the Association.]
[But he shrugged and made himself a cup of tea, looking through one of the numerous books on law with genuine interest.]
Re: ~details~, man
Also, Edgeworth enjoyed his work, so there.
Anyway, the prosecutor came back.] I hope the tea is to your liking.
no subject
It's perfect, thanks. [He shut the book in his hand and carefully replaced it.]
Sorry--should I be heading back? I wouldn't want to take up much of your time.

I trust Diarmuid is well?
no subject
Unfortunately, I haven't an abundance of time as it is.
