[The hot Tokyo summer had started to fade into evening, bringing cooler air and a more upbeat atmosphere. People were pretty active in that part of town; the shopping district was bustling with young and old alike. Couples out on dates, businessmen meeting others for dinners, schoolgirls playing shooter games in arcades. Grainne shifted the small bag of food in her hand and moves to the side of the walkway to avoid two men, one of whom looks a little bit the worse. The faint smell of alcohol caught in her nose as they pass by, and she sighs.
It's annoying that she can't really get drunk herself some days. Grainne really wouldn't mind having one or two from time to time, just to dull the memories a bit. It's just too bad she couldn't afford it, even if her body didn't just burn the stuff off almost instantly. Keeping watch for threats, magic and normal alike, demands most of her attention.
Face it. Several months just are not long enough to forget. Her memory from growing up in a world without pretty much any written language, and having to memorize everything, is good. Frustratingly good. She can still recall that place with horrible clarity. The sights, sounds and smells that made up the nightmare.
Her 'life' so far wasn't anything to cheer about, either. The apartment she and Sakura share in Tokyo for the next few weeks is small and cramped, but it has the luxury of being excellent to take enchantments to better hide Sakura from the Matous, who no doubt were searching for her with their loss of the Grail War hitting them hard.
She and Sakura move around, keeping low. Waver was off somewhere doing magus-ish things and hopefully kept the heat off them, while she watched for any sign of pursuit. It isn't hard to do, even in the modern age. She'd learned how to do it the hard way, after all.
She moves quickly, keeping her senses open to catch any magic that might appear.]
