Lord El-Melloi II [AU]
01 September 2014 @ 03:24 am
[Waver felt as though he'd slept for three days straight upon returning home. (It had been more like one and a half, but he wasn't one to ever sleep quite so soundly.) But he'd returned to his usual habits in record time. After all, Lord El-Melloi II was the same as ever--neatly kept ponytail, black and green suit, and a work ethic that bordered on 'inhuman'.]

[This world saw an overcast late afternoon in October when he left the Clock Tower in London, walking home the same route he always took back towards his apartment building off-campus. Things were routine, comfortable, and most importantly normal. After everything that had happened, simple normality was the most vital thing in the world.]

[So it was almost a shame that anybody could come worldhopping in and break him out of his thoughts at any minute.]

[ooc: spoilers this is actually a joint post! you can come tag waver on his way home or diarmuid back at waver's apartment! or ask for both, i'm an ooc note, not a cop]

[As soon as she'd figured out that worldhopping didn't count as 'moving', so it didn't disturb her body on her own world and it didn't release the angels off her wings and wipe out everyone - as soon as she figured that out, she was through the door and in the small tower. It might not have been much by someone else's standards, but to V/V, it was the most beautiful thing she'd seen yet. A place full of hope.

V/V is easy to find by the sound of her singing, wordless but beautiful and full of pure joy. She plays along with her guitar, but will pause for anyone who comes across her and wants to talk.]

How are you? How've you been? How's your world?

[She couldn't keep the excitement out of her voice even if she wanted to. She's even thrilled to see complete strangers.]

Prompts x2 combo )

[Bonus - the next day;]

[Those who arrived in the small tower before will notice something different about it now. Carved into the ground in front of the table that bears Zo's gifts are a few lines of elegant fonic script - ]

Remember this:
There will come a time
when everything around you seems to be not what you thought it was,
and you won't know what to believe about anything at all.
At that time, look for something that is still true.

Grainne
01 September 2014 @ 08:29 pm

[The hot Tokyo summer had started to fade into evening, bringing cooler air and a more upbeat atmosphere. People were pretty active in that part of town; the shopping district was bustling with young and old alike. Couples out on dates, businessmen meeting others for dinners, schoolgirls playing shooter games in arcades. Grainne shifted the small bag of food in her hand and moves to the side of the walkway to avoid two men, one of whom looks a little bit the worse. The faint smell of alcohol caught in her nose as they pass by, and she sighs.

It's annoying that she can't really get drunk herself some days. Grainne really wouldn't mind having one or two from time to time, just to dull the memories a bit. It's just too bad she couldn't afford it, even if her body didn't just burn the stuff off almost instantly. Keeping watch for threats, magic and normal alike, demands most of her attention.

Face it. Several months just are not long enough to forget. Her memory from growing up in a world without pretty much any written language, and having to memorize everything, is good. Frustratingly good. She can still recall that place with horrible clarity. The sights, sounds and smells that made up the nightmare.

Her 'life' so far wasn't anything to cheer about, either. The apartment she and Sakura share in Tokyo for the next few weeks is small and cramped, but it has the luxury of being excellent to take enchantments to better hide Sakura from the Matous, who no doubt were searching for her with their loss of the Grail War hitting them hard.

She and Sakura move around, keeping low. Waver was off somewhere doing magus-ish things and hopefully kept the heat off them, while she watched for any sign of pursuit. It isn't hard to do, even in the modern age. She'd learned how to do it the hard way, after all.

She moves quickly, keeping her senses open to catch any magic that might appear.]
