hi hi everyone!!!
Characters: anyone who wants to hop in
Setting: June 4, nighttime, in the new Tower
Summary: Well, nothing's perfect.
Warnings: horror, maybe a bit of gore
It's been a whole year! Isn't it exciting? Aren't you happy? You should be happy. Be happy here, right here, in this place, forever. Can't you feel the happiness soaking into your bones and seeping into your soul? It's enough to make you forget you have anything to do anywhere else, enough to make you manic.
Oh. Wait. That's probably a bad thing.
It's not on purpose, but wishes have power. Be happy here, remember? Well, it seems like there's a bit of a leak somewhere--just a tiny bit of reserve energy that didn't vent itself off and has taken that wish between its teeth and chewed on it until its guts were exposed to the world. The effect is varied, although its core is simple: happiness. At its mildest level, you'll want to linger, to wait a bit longer before going back to your own world. As it gets worse, though, you won't ever want to go back. You're happy here. So happy. So happy you could die. So happy you could kill someone else.
For some people, the happiness is so extreme they'll be driven to those sorts of extremes. Some might prefer more psychological forms of torment. It's fine, everyone's happy, this is fine, it's totally fine!
If you have enough of a hold on yourself to know something's gone a bit sideways, there's a panel you can open up on the bottom floor of the Tower to climb down into a very small sublevel that contains a small, writhing reservoir of remaining soul energy. Just drain that and avoid anyone suffering its effects while fighting back any urges yourself and things will be fine.
There won't be NPC tags to this, but you can play with it however you'd like today. Things will return to normal tomorrow no matter what.
